Internal Medicine/Family Practice Nocturnist

Our client in North Central Mississippi is currently in need of locum tenens Internal Medicine or Family Practice Nocturnist to join their team.

Requirements:

• BC/BE in IM or BC/BE in FP with proven competencies in hospital medicine; central lines
• Must be BC prior to 5th year of post grad

Practice Details:

• Daily physician coverage: 7 on/ 7 off block schedule. 4 physicians - 7a-7p; 1 physician in-house - 7p-7a. 
• Nocturnist schedule - no additional coverage. The Nocturnist has been temporarily admitting all the ICU patients at night but this is likely to change.
• ICU is co-managed. HM admits to the ICU and consult CC if needed. CC also admits their own patients depending on the illness.
• Hospitalists and ED respond to codes together
• Procedures are not required but would be a bonus. ED and critical care can be called to help with procedures if needed.
• Average census: 70
• The admits overnight range from 5 to 13
• Encounters on days and nights: 14
• Hospitalist on day shift: 4
• Hospitalist on night shift: 1
