Locum Tenens Hospitalist: Nocturnist Job in Mississippi
Internal Medicine/Family Practice Nocturnist
Our client in North Central Mississippi is currently in need of locum tenens Internal Medicine or Family Practice Nocturnist to join their team.
Requirements:
- BC/BE in IM or BC/BE in FP with proven competencies in hospital medicine; central lines
- Must be BC prior to 5th year of post grad
Practice Details:
- Daily physician coverage: 7 on/ 7 off block schedule. 4 physicians - 7a-7p; 1 physician in-house - 7p-7a.
- Nocturnist schedule - no additional coverage. The Nocturnist has been temporarily admitting all the ICU patients at night but this is likely to change.
- ICU is co-managed. HM admits to the ICU and consult CC if needed. CC also admits their own patients depending on the illness.
- Hospitalists and ED respond to codes together
- Procedures are not required but would be a bonus. ED and critical care can be called to help with procedures if needed.
- Average census: 70
- The admits overnight range from 5 to 13
- Encounters on days and nights: 14
- Hospitalist on day shift: 4
- Hospitalist on night shift: 1
