Psychiatrist

Our client in Western Virginia is currently in need of locums Psychiatrist to join their facility.

Requirements:

• M.D. or D.O. acceptable. 
• Psychiatry board certification required. 
• BCLS preferred.
• Must have Virginia medical license. 
• Physicians within driving distance are preferred.
• Skills (General Psychiatric Privileges): General Adult Psychiatry

Practice Details:

• Practice Setting: Both inpatient and outpatient
• Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call
• Hours/Shifts: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. and then share a minimum of 1:3 call during weekdays and weekends. Call starts at 5:00 p.m. and ends Monday at 8:00 a.m. Weekend call starts at 5:00 p.m. and ends Monday at 8:00 a.m.
• Rounding: Both inpatient and outpatient
• Patients Per Shift: 12-16
• Weekday volume is 16 patients per day.  3-4 admissions per shift. 
• Physician may be requested to consult on occasional adolescents.  Most adolescents are transferred to a facility Johnson City, TN.
• Call:
  • Call is entirely for Clearview.  No E.D. call required.
  • Call Type: Beeper
  • Call Response Time Requited: 30 minutes
  • Call Ratio: 1:2
  • Locums call is for both assigned and unassigned patients
  • Average Call Numbers per 24 Hours:
    • Phone Consults: Yes
    • Patients Seen: 12-16
• Average length of stay = 7-9 days.  Hospitalists/NP’s do the medical History & Physicals and treat the medical issues.  Location has two hospitalists and several full time FNP’s at this time.
