IP Adult Unit – BH Assignment - November 2018
The locum will see a max of 12-14 patients per day on the inpatient unit - includes performing initial evals and rounding. It will be the locum’s option whether they want to do hospital consults, it’s not mandatory.
Assignment: Start Date ASAP Provider taking leave Coverage – Immediate – 3 to months
Adult Inpatient Unit – 10 beds on flex unit / 10 beds on adult unit. Flex unit is a 10 bed inpatient unit that licensed to “flex” between child/adolescent admissions and adult admissions. In practice, that unit only admits adults. M-F – 8:00am-5:00pm. Physician’s option to take call. There may be one weekday overnight call and one weekend.
On average there will be 2-4 new patients on the inpatient unit.
Case mix varies. Inpatient unit tends to focus on a more chronic adult population. EMR is Cerner inpatient. Physicians have the benefit of having a mid-level provider with them on the inpatient unit as well as a full complement of therapists, technicians.
Average Length of stay: 8 days. 4 psychiatrists and 4 Mid-Levels on staff. physician or NP/PA will be required to do H&Ps.credentialing/privileges process takes 10-14 days if all documentation is completed & references contacted
