Psychiatrist

Our client in Southeast Missouri is currently searching for locums Psychiatrist to take on the facility’s extra volume.

Practice Details:

• Practice Setting: Inpatient
• Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call
• Call:
  • Call Type: In-House
  • Locums call is for both assigned and unassigned patients
  • Call is one out of three.  Does not have to come back to the hospital when on call with the exception being for a stat consult.
• Three doctors cover the unit Monday through Friday.  Two doctors cover the unit on the weekend  and/or holiday. Cover one weekend a month (rare occasion). 
• Seclusion room coverage no longer requires a physician to come back to the unit.  Seclusion is handled by nursing now with phone consultation with on-call physician for medications and new orders on the patient when necessary. 
• Physician required to do Psychiatric Admission Notes,  daily progress notes and discharge summaries.  All notes are dictated.  
• The physician on call is responsible for consults on other units along with their coverage of their assigned patients on the unit.   
• Average daily census presently around 28-30 patients per day.
• Provider will be required to supervise other healthcare providers
