Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician

Our client in Northwest South Carolina has a current need for a locums Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician.

Requirements:

• M.D. degree
• Must be Board Certified
• Must already have SC medical license in place. Will not consider candidates that must obtain SC license.
  
• PM&R Physician with 2 years’ experience preferred. Would also consider Family Medicine, Hospitalist or Neurologist that after completing a one-year hospital internship has at least 2 years of training or experience in the medical-management of inpatients requiring rehabilitation services.

Practice Details:

• Practice Setting: Inpatient
• Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call (In-House)
• Coverage dates are Saturday, May 27^th, 8am - Monday, June 19^th, 8am. Would prefer one provider but very willing to look at multiple providers for (3) week long increments as follows:
  • Sat, May 27^th, 8am - Sat, June 3^rd, 8am
  • Sat, June 3^rd, 8am - Sat, June 10^th, 8am
  • Sat, June 10^th, 8am - Mon, June 19^th, 8am
• Average Daily Census: 10
• Typical shift or hours per day: Each day is from 8-5 or 9-6. If is important that the facility is able to accept patients in the afternoons so flexibility in hours is definitely accepted (come in later to stay later).  They hold team conference Tuesdays and Thursdays and will require MD attendance.  They also require 20 hours of medical director coverage but this is easily accomplished in a full work week.
• Type of care that the provider is typically providing: stroke coverage, cardiac rehab, general mix, etc. – The facility is an acute inpatient rehab so they have a good mix but the vast majority of patients are neuro, ortho (hip fx), debility or amputations.
