Locum Tenens Psychiatry: Geriatric Job in New Jersey
Location: New Jersey (approximately 45 minutes east of Philadelphia)
Specialty Requested: Geriatric Psychiatrist – seeking Locums until they can permanently hire Medical Director to take over the Geriatric Unit
BC/BE Requirements: Prefer Board Certified however client will consider Board Eligible if within 3-5 years of their residency.
Facility Type: Acute Hospital Facility
Reason for Coverage Need: Short Staffed
Start Date: 60 Days after acceptance
Length Of Assignment: 4-6 months
Schedule: Monday Friday 8A-5P
Patient Volume: approximately 10-13 patients (pending condition/circumstances)
Patient Age Range: All Adult - Geriatrics
Responsibilities: Diagnoses and treats geriatric patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. Organizes data concerning patient’s family, medical history, and onset of symptoms obtained from patient, relatives, and other sources, such as nurse and social worker. Examines patient to determine general physical condition, following standard medical procedures. Orders laboratory and other special diagnostic tests and evaluates data obtained. Determines nature and extent of mental disorder, and formulates treatment program. Treats or directs treatment of patient, utilizing variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
Inpatient/Outpatient: Inpatient Only
Call Requirements: One Weekend Per Month
Certifications Required: DEA; CSR; BLS/CPR card; recent NPDB report
Charting/Dictation: PAPER
Must be licensed as a psychiatrist in the state of New Jersey or able to obtain licensure.
Experience in providing services in inpatient/outpatient environment.
Must possess good interpersonal communication and leadership skills.
Must complete a satisfactory background investigation.
