MD/DO - Family Practice Physician Naval Branch Health Clinics in Virginia Beach, VA and Surrounding Areas • Oceana Clinic • Tricare Prime Virginia Beach • Sewell’s Point - Norfolk Clinic POSITION OVERVIEW (duties include but are not limited to) • Physicians WILL NOT be required to provide Obstetrics (OB) services. • Operate and manipulate automated systems such as CHCS, AHLTA, ADS, Essentris, and Clinical Information System (CIS), participate in clinical staff Performance Improvement (PI) and Risk Management (RM) functions, as prescribed by the Commander. Maintain DOD email account as directed. The Physician shall be responsive to all email and voicemail communications. • Exercise appropriate delegation of tasks and duties in the direction and coordination of health care team members, patient care, and clinic activities. • Maintain documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with clinic directives, and prepare such records and reports as may be required. All records and reports must be legible. Abbreviations must be only those listed in local instructions. • The Physician shall comply with the HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) privacy and security policies of the treatment facility. QUALIFICATIONS • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a government security clearance. • Must possess a Doctorate Degree in Medicine from an accredited college approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, a Doctorate degree in Osteopathy from a college accredited by the American Osteopathic Association, or permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). • Must possess and maintain a current, valid, unrestricted license (corresponding to the specialty required by the task order) in one of the fifty states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands. • Possess board certification in Family Medicine as determined by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or from the American Osteopathic Association. • Possess a minimum of one (1) year experience within the preceding two (2) years. • Possess and Maintain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as approved through the American Heart Association (AHA). • Possess and maintain a current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration number (certificate) to prescribe controlled substances as listed in 21 C.F.R. 1308.
