- This is a fabulous opportunity for the surgeon who would like the opportunity to stay busy and enjoy the wonderful location of Elko, Nevada and all of the outdoor recreation it has to offer including the Ruby Mountains towering to 11,000 feet located just 17 miles from the city limits. Ideal candidate would be one who is experienced and self- directed with a wide range of procedures that can be offered. Lap skills are required. Candidate can also do some trauma, vascular, thoracic, colo-rectal, etc if wanted. Scopes are required. We presently do laparoscopic appendectomies, gallbladders, ileocolectomies, diagnostic laparoscopy for GYN and ovarian cystectomies as well as laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomies. Call is 1:3, there are 2 other surgeons in town. As a physician employee of the Northeastern Nevada Medical Group, contract calls for compensation around $380K a year income guarantee plus a variety of benefits. FMG’s and J-1’s considered with strong communication skills and a track record of high patient satisfaction. Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital is a diversified 75-bed acute care facility with a robust menu of services located in a remote setting and meeting the needs of a large geographic area. Patients are currently being seen from communities as far as 2.5 hours away. Our services include an interventional cardiology program with cath lab and a partnership for in-town radiation oncology center. The Elko economy is thriving and we boast 8 or 9 patients out of every 10 with insurance.
