Description:
From May 22 through June 30, the person would do half inpatient (5 beds), some cross-coverage of other teams, and the occasional consult (1-2/week).
Starting July 1, we would need them to shift to cover more inpatient beds (8 or 9, depending on the month bc there’s a set rotation with the faculty) and the consult coverage would be reduced.
o The diagnostic range includes primary affective and psychotic disorders; most common dxs are schizophrenia and major depressive disorder
o Approximately 65% of our inpatients have co-morbid substance use disorders (so having the ability to prescribe Suboxone upon discharge is a plus but not mandatory)
o Goal average length of stay for the unit is 6 days
o Patient evaluation & documentation includes admission H&Ps, daily progress notes, discharge summaries. Other clinical expectations include family meetings, involuntary commitment hearings when applicable, clinical review panels when applicable.
