Hospital / Clinic Employed Psychiatry: General Job in Anchorage, Alaska
This general psychiatry position in Anchorage, Alaska is offered as a hospital/clinic-employed opportunity. In this arrangement, you would be a W-2 employee of the hospital or clinic, which administers compensation, benefits, malpractice coverage, and scheduling, and provides the clinical facility and supporting infrastructure. This structure is designed to let you focus on clinical care rather than the business side of practice.
The role is a permanent position under a contract financial structure, with the financial offering listed at the national average tier. Relocation assistance is available to support your transition to Anchorage. Emergency department call is structured at 1:6 or better. This is not a partnership-track position.
The organization considers candidates who are board certified or board eligible, trained through allopathic or osteopathic pathways, and either American or foreign medical graduates. Physicians currently in training as well as those with prior clinical experience, at any stage from recently trained to very experienced, are welcome to apply. Schedule:
Monday - Friday
8am-4pm
Call Schedule:
1:6 or 1:7 - preferred, not mandatory
Acute Inpatient details:
80-bed psychiatric hospital
Locum will cover 12 beds/patients
1-3 admission per day (45 minutes-1 hour)
1-3 discharges per day
Rounding on the remainder of patients
An average patient stays between 7-14 days, can be less
Cases:
Severe mental Illness-
Schizophrenia
Bi-polar
Severe depression
Support staff:
Other Psychiatrists will be onsite
Mid-levels, RN's Nurse managers, PNA's, Psychologists
Hiring process:
From the time of submission to scheduling interview = No more than 48 hours
Offer: Right after phone interview
Interviewer: Depends on who is available. Can be the Medical Director, CEO or another Psych MD
Credentialing:
1 month tops
Can be done faster if all documents are turned in asap
