We currently seeking a board certified/board eligible Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation physician to provide inpatient physiatry consults in an expanding post-acute network.
The position will join an established and growing inpatient consult service in our facility just North of Metro Atlanta which has been accredited as the Primary Stroke Center since 2010 and is the only designated trauma center in the Georgia area (Level II). The acute care consultation service provides and coordinates care for a broad spectrum of patients with concussions, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, strokes, amputations, orthopedic injuries and surgeries, cardiopulmonary conditions and progressive neurological disorders.
This position provides the opportunity to develop outpatient stroke, TBI, SCI, and general PM&R follow-up clinics if interested, while providing continued support and growth to the inpatient consultation service.
Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient consultation to patients at multiple levels of care
- Opportunity for outpatient clinics, depending on interest
- Opportunity for medical education, fast-growing GME residency program development
- Build effective relationships with referring physicians to ensure excellent team follow-up regarding patient consults and to build an improved culture of collaboration among specialists, primary care physicians, hospitalists and rehabilitation
- Active participation in interdisciplinary team rounds and meetings
Call:
- The position will include call coverage 1:6 of our 24-bed CARF accredited inpatient rehab unit
- Hospitalist services are available during the week and weekends to assist in primary care medical needs
