Practice Details

Provide ENT services two days a week with rotation to include coverage at the Hot Springs campus a minimum of two days per month. Standard Complexity surgical procedures to be performed at the Fort Meade campus one day per week. The physicians assigned to Surgical Services, provides comprehensive care for ENT patient. The scope of these activities covers all phases of ambulatory care. The major duties for this position include patient care and treatment of diseases and injuries of the ear, nose and throat. The physicians will routinely be responsible for performing standard complexity surgery. The physicians will provide care in an outpatient setting. The incumbent will coordinate activities of other health care service staff, resolve concerns affecting patient care, and provide appropriate education for the patient and/or family members regarding the patient’s care, illness, and its management. Physicians whose responsibilities include following facility policies, rules and regulations, adhering to the Medical Staff Bylaws; provide leadership in the application of clinical practice to organizational processes and/or systems improving outcomes at the service level; achieve excellent customer satisfaction; assure compliance with clinical practice guidelines and work collaboratively with others; create a system to promote state-of-the-art acute, chronic and preventive care; for performance improvement process; keep abreast of changes as appropriate; and to serve on ENT related or other facility committees as assigned. All ENT staff have a responsibility to understand the VA mission; to establish effective and productive relationships with hospital administration, hospital staff, patients and the community as appropriate; to comply with training requirements and to contribute to a safe environment for patients and staff. All staff will participate in the Peer Review process.
