OBGYN Physician Needed in Caribou, Maine.
The Hospital is a physician practice management organization with 27 physicians and 13 mid-level providers.
In the fall of 2007, the practice was designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center, providing enhanced access to health care services for all members of the community
For over 25 years the hospital has provided care to a service area population numbering about 35,000 people.
Our clinical staff is fully engaged in quality improvement, earning multiple blue ribbons from the Maine Health Alliance.
We are a designated preferred provider for State of Maine employees, and have been recognized by Anthem Blue Cross / Blue Shield as a preferred provider based on the demonstrated quality of care provided to our patients.
Significant potential exists for an OB/Gyn to join our practice, working at our Women’s and Children’s Health Center located on the Medical Center campus, as well as at our Presque Isle Health Center.

Practice Characteristics:
The successful candidate will join two OB/Gyn’s, two Certified Nurse Midwives and a Family Nurse Practitioner in providing compassionate, high quality care to obstetrical and gynecological patients drawn from multiple communities.
180 – 190 deliveries are performed annually, with market share steadily increasing.
High risk mothers and neonates are referred for delivery to Medical Center in Bangor.
The Women’s Health Center is located downstairs from Medical Center, providing inside access within minutes to the labor/delivery/post partum unit of the hospital.
The Hospitals OB unit and staff have a well-earned reputation as the warmest, friendliest and most desirable place to deliver babies.
Specialists available include urology, vascular and thoracic surgery, general surgery, and ophthalmology.
Access to Medical Center outpatient clinics including diabetes counseling and nutritional therapy.
Expectations – provide high quality, compassionate and efficient outpatient and inpatient care. The successful candidate will be able to work closely and effectively with mid-level providers, be able to participate in marketing the OB and Gyn programs to increase volumes, and be interested in continuing to advance the use of technology and techniques in Gyn surgical care.
The Opportunity:
Status: Full-time: 40 – 45 hours/week, including operating room time
Patients: Community profile includes a sizeable population of women for whom Gyn surgical procedures and urodynamic testing are becoming increasingly important.
