HSI is looking for a OB/GYN or Family Practice
Physician to join our OB/GYN team. Our Physicians provide professional medical
services to our patients, implement healthcare initiatives, assure continuity
of healthcare by establishing professional linkage with specialized and
advanced healthcare resources, and assure the implementation and achievement of
all applicable Public Health Service initiatives bearing on the practice of
medicine.
This position typically works a standard
schedule of 7:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday, however, schedule
adjustments may be necessary based on need.
Job Duties:
- Performs the professional services of an Obstetrician/Gynecologist.
- With the approval and coordination of the Medical Director, establishes clinical standards for the rendering of quality medical care.
- Provides a full range of ambulatory medical care, including assessment, examination, diagnosis, treatment, counseling, and referral as necessary. Specific tasks may be delegated to other members of the staff: consistent with legal restrictions and quality care.
- Provides follow-on inpatient care, as appropriate, through personally-developed linkages with advanced health care resources, such as hospitals, clinics, sanitariums, etc. This follow-on care is an integral part of the Center's programs.
- In consultation with the Medical Director, assists in developing policies, procedures and programs for the delivery of ambulatory and inpatient care.
- Is aware of general patient needs and problems based on the specific age category of the patient.
- Participates in after-hours call schedule.
- Documents accurately and legibly in patient charts, including pain assessment level.
- Provides delivery and surgical coverage for the OB/GYN patients as medically deemed necessary.
- Helps to coordinate the total care of patients and consult with provider extenders as needed, ex. nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, and physician assistants.
- Supervises assigned students/interns when they provide or assist in providing patient care, treatment and services as part of their training.
Education and Experience:
- Graduated from a recognized medical school and possess an M.D. Degree.
- Currently licensed to practice medicine in the State of Alabama or eligible to become licensed.
- Completed one year of internship and have at least one year of experience in ambulatory healthcare. Completion of residency in obstetrics and gynecology.
