Employer is private non-profit NYS designation level II trauma center serving a tri-county area of 170000 in northeastern New York. Recognized by Healthgrades as a Top 100 Hospital for Cardiac Care. Daily census is approximately 284 (approximately 170 acute beds) with 165 physicians on the Medical Staff. Recent year saw 10220 admissions 96360 patient days 1095 births 51100 emergency room visits and 22265 surgical procedures. Much bigger than what you would expect in a rural area.
Recruiting for EM physicians to work in the Emergency Department (ED). Ideal candidate should be EM trained and seeking full-time employment. Offers both hospital-employed and independent contractor positions.
Shifts are flexible (8 10 and 12 hour) and scheduling provides 60 hours of physician coverage. Providers typically see fewer than 2 patients per hour. We have 14 FTE physicians that staff the unit. The ED docs do not admit patients. The primary care physician or specialist admits them. Documentation is 100% in the EMR (Sorian 3.3)
