CRITICAL CARE | Locum Tenens & Permanent Opportunity in Maryland The facility is 1.5 Hours South of Washington D.C. • Present Need: Critical Care Locums for Weekends OR Permanent placement (7 on 7 off FTE). • 95 Bed Hospital, 12 Bed ICU. • 24 hour shifts (7a – 7p Day Shift + Night Call 7p – 7a). • Weekend Call is generally 5 hours working in-house rounding and stabilizing patients from 7a – 12p and then leaving the hospital and being available by pager within 15 – 30 minutes of the facility. There are some days that are very busy and you will work 10 – 12 hours in-house. • Night-call hours after 7pm are generally pretty quiet as the Nocturnists handle everything at night and the hospital also utilizes E-ICU Tele-physicians (University of Baltimore) • 1 Intensivist on site. • Hospitalist Staffing Set-up: 2 MDs + 1 NP or PA on the Day shift (7a – 7p), 1 Nocturnist (7p - 7a). • Average ICU Census: 4 – 8 Patients per day. • Average Inpatient Census: 30 – 40 patients per day. Evenly split between hospitalists. • Hospitalists working of weekends (Day or Night shift) are required to be proficient with central lines and vent management so that the Intensivist doesn’t handle that at Night while on call. • Intensivist is the lead on Procedures Monday – Friday during the Day shift. • Intensivist handles codes during the day shift. Hospitalist there as back-up for their own patients. Nocturnist is responsible for ALL patients codes. • Open ICU. • Cerner EMR System. • BC in Critical Care Required – Must also be BC in IM, Anes, Surg etc. Lauren Rainey- (Registered Profile Required) (Registered Profile Required)
