JOB TITLE: On-Site Medical Director REPORTS TO: LifeLinc CEO/COO/CMO; Hospital Administration as applicable JOB SUMMARY Serve as LifeLinc’s On-Site Medical Director for a wide range of duties including administrative duties and clinical duties related to the practice of pain management. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to target pain generators, decrease pain and minimize the need for narcotic medication. Assists with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatment and consultations. Perform the important task of educating patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments. Conduct physicals, order tests and serve as a patient's primary healthcare provider specifically related to pain management. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and experience equivalent to: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of medicine. Must hold a current license in good standing to practice in the state in which he/she is located. Must have a free and clear DEA to practice in the state of TN. CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES May include any and/or all of the following: ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES - Function as a collaborator and team member to accomplish applicable goals and functions of the organization. - Attend meetings relating to the operation of the center in which you are located. - Participate in administrative decision making and recommend and approve policies and procedures. - Provide information to LifeLinc Corporation regarding budgetary, administrative and patient care matters related to the Department. - Develop standards for continuity of care and case management. - Remain cognizant of rules and regulation as they pertain to pain management and remain compliant at a local, state, and federal level. CLINICAL DUTIES - Work with pain management staff to find the source of chronic pain. - Patient evaluation - Determine the nature of pain, develop and organize a proper pain management plan to provide the best possible relief. - Determine proper analgesic medication as applicable, evaluate and adjust as needed. - Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to decrease pain. - Provide medical care and consultation in many settings, prescribing medication and treatment. - Maintain current policies and procedures set forth by LifeLinc and propose new and efficient policies when applicable. - Perform clinical reviews and audits on all clinical services provided by other practitioners employed by LifeLinc as applicable. - Responsible for training and oversight of all clinical staff and personnel as applicable.
