Locum Tenens Anesthesiology Job in California

Anesthesiologist

Our client in Northern California is currently looking for locums Anesthesiologist to provide coverage for their facility.

Requirements:

  • BC (if not BC, within 2 years of Residency)
  • Must be CA licensed
  • BLS, ACLS required
  • Hospital privileges required - will take about 60-90 days

Practice Details:

  • The typical schedule is 7a – 3p, Monday - Friday and call after 3p. The provider working #1 room takes call at three after their shift (first) and the #2 room is backup (second), etc.
    • Monday - Wednesday First call Second Call Third Call
      • 7-3 pm 1 2 3
      • 3-7pm Eve 1 2
      • 7-11pm Eve Nights 1
      • 11pm-7am Nights 1 Cardiac
        **Note: The 11 pm-7 am 2nd call person is the "#1" from the previous day if past midnight.**
    • Thursday - Sunday First call Second Call Third Call
      • 7 am-5 pm DWC Day Night
      • 5 pm-7 pm Day DWC Night
      • 7 pm-7 am Night Day Cardiac
    • Holiday First call Second Call Third Call
      • 7 am-7 pm Day Night Cardiac
      • 7 pm-7 am Night Day Cardiac
        **Note: If indicated person is not available after several attempts, call next person on list.
        **Note: This schedule is subject to changes with additional clinical needs.
  • 90% Adult, 10% peds, 5% trauma
  • 2-5 surgical cases/day - 70% general, 10% OB, 10% Neuro, 5% Thoracic, 5% complex vascular and ortho.
  • 10 Anesthesiologists in group. 10 OR's. PA's, NP's, Rn's, Tech's as support staff.
  • OR Equipment: Sonosite ultrasound, glidescopes, disposable bronchoscopes, Flotrac, Hotline, Belmont rapid infuser, IO drill, cerebral oxymeter. BIS monitor, etc.
  • Procedures required:
    • General Anesthesia (adult, pediatric) (trauma preferred)
    • Spinal Anesthesia
    • Epidural anesthesia
    • Regional anesthesia surgery
    • Obstetrical cases
    • Neurosurgical cases (head/spine)
    • Thoracic cases (except open heart)
    • Complex vascular/ortho cases (except open heart)
    • Pain management techniques
    • Post-op epidural
    • Post-op extremity blocks
    • Vent management
    • Evaluation and management of acute volume/BP issues
    • Central/arterial line placement
