Permanent Psychiatry: Geriatric Job in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

If you enjoy working in a teaching/academic setting with geriatric patients then this could be just what you are looking for.  You will provide direct clinical care to geropsychiatric patients in  a mix of Inpatient and Outpatient settings.  The mix will be roughly 50/50.

The inpatient unit has 17 beds. There is another psychiatrist on the unit who does most of the IP so you will be responsible for approx. 5-6 patients on the IP side. You will also be involved with treating residents and fellows.

In this role you will work closely with patients, their family members and in some cases the patients's primary care physicians to monitor cognitive and memory issues, medication management, and more. You will work with an internal team of therapists, social workers, psychologists, and more  and will also be responsible for supervising and training residents rotating through the unit.  You also will, if interested, perform ECT to help with depression in older adults.

Salary 200-210K plus annual department bonus of 3-5,000 per year  plus $10,000 from call plus exceptional benefits including both a pension  plan and 403B

Candidate does not need to have a geriatric fellowship but must be interested and willing to work with this population.
