Responsibilities and Duties:
Ability to provide care to female patients who need preventive care and screenings and interpretation of diagnostic tests related to women’s health issues.
Provide care to female patients, including Gynecology visits for health assessments, annual exams, colposcopies, endometrial biopsies.
Manage abnormal uterine bleeding, family planning.

Manage Obstetric care for low and high risk pregnant patients including pregnancy tests, initial obstetric visits, pregnancy follow up, non-stress tests, ultrasounds.
preference for a candidate looking for a full scope of OB/GYN to include deliveries but may consider a candidate seeking an outpatient practice
Core Competencies/Skill Sets
- Care for and treat women during prenatal, natal and postnatal periods.
- Perform scheduled surgeries at the local hospital and surgery center.
- Take 24 hour call at least once per week at the local hospital to medically manage and provide care for all COHC patients that go to the hospital through the ER or Labor and Delivery; including vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections and any other surgical emergencies such as dilations and curettages, laparoscopies or laparotomies.
Professional Experience/Educational Requirements
Current D.E.A. Certificate.
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Obstetrics. If Board Eligible at the time of hire, must be Board Certified within 3 years of hire date.
Insurability (malpractice).
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR).
ACLS or Advanced Life Support within 12 months of employment, if appropriate.
- Medical degree in medicine from an accredited school and licensed or ability to obtain a license to practice in Connecticut.
- Current DEA and DPS Certificate of Registration.
- Minimum two years of direct work or intern experience.
